On Tuesday Xiaomi launched a new range of smart T.Vs starting from a price of ₹17,999 along with a range of new smart home products like water purifiers and fitness bands.

Xiaomi brings the Mi TV 4X series with a screen size of 65, 50 and, 43 inches. All three TVs come with a 4K HDR 10-bit panel.

All three TVs come with the new image processing engine, called the Vivid Picture Engine. The company promises better picture experience, it also comes with the Dolby support for the better sound experience.

The Mi TV 4X 65 inch variant comes with a Cortex A55 processor and also supports Wide Color Gamut (WCG) and MEMC which are enabled by a dedicated card.

The 50 inches and 43 inches priced at Rs.29,999 on Amazon and Rs24,999 on Flipkart. The 65-inch variant priced at Rs.64,999 and available on Flipkart and Mi.com.

Mi TV 4A

Xiaomi not much revealed about the Mi TV 4A series a new 40-inch variant with full HD panel. But the company has confirmed that all the TVs will come with the latest version of Patch Wall UI. It will also come with a data saver feature including built-in Amazon Prime and Netflix support.

It is priced at Rs.17,999; It will also support to cast local files to TV feature.

All the TVs will go on sale from 29th September.

Mi Water Purifier.

Xiaomi brings its 1st water purifier which supports a compact size, the company claims that it will only take up the size of an A4 sheet.

It comes with a 7-liter tank, made up of FDA approved material. Xiaomi emphasized on the device’s Penta-purification system.

The company claims that the water flows through three cartridges- PPC (polypropylene cotton), activated carbon, RO and post activated carbon-before setting still in the tank, illuminated by UV lighting to ensure high-quality water output that confirms to BIS.

The Mi water purifier can be controlled by the Mi Home app which allows you to live TDS-Tracking and one-tap ordering of new cartridges.

The Mi purifier is priced at Rs.11,999.

The new Mi band 4 the successor of Mi band 3 announced by Xiaomi. It comes with a 0.95-inch AMOLED display panel that will track all the physical activity and also get notifications of text messages and voice calls directly from a connected phone.

The new Mi band shows the display QR codes and now you can also give a command to your voice assistant through the band. It will have all the other features of Mi Band 3. It starts with a price tag of Rs.2,299.

Last but not least, Xiaomi brings Mi Motion Activated Night Light 2 which will only available on Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform.

It has a built-in motion sensor that detects the person in a room and switches ON by itself. It is priced at Rs.499.

Xiaomi unveiled its 30W wireless charging technology by the name of MI Charge Turbo in China.

In Weibo, Xiaomi announced that the first handset which will support this charger will be Mi 9 Pro 5G.

The company claims that users can able to charge wirelessly their devices with 4,000mAh battery from 0% to 50% in 25 minutes and 100% in 70 minutes.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will also support reverse charging which is suggested that can charge an iPhone XS by 20% in 30 minutes.

Wireless charging will help users to charge different devices like earphones, smartwatches, etc.

Xiaomi also announced its other wireless accessories that are Qi wireless standard compliant which will provide 20W to 30W power output. The company also announced that its 40W wireless charging tech is in testing mode.

The company hasn’t provided any information regarding the 20W and 30W wireless charging pad and MI 9 Pro 5G. Whereas Mi 9 Pro 5G will not be the only handset that will support the 5G connectivity, the company confirmed that the successor of K20 Pro which is K30 will come with 5G support. This was confirmed by the company’s general manager Lu Weibing.

This year earlier, Xiaomi also launched its first 5G enabled smartphone Mi Mix 3 5G. The device launched with the partnership with three companies, Orange, Sunrise, and Vodafone.

Xiaomi’s Redmi series is a part of Qualcomm’s deal with 12 smartphone OEMs that are confirmed to use the upcoming Snapdragon 7 series 5G mobile platform for their future 5G mobile devices.

The Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani had announced details of upcoming Jio-GigaFiber and high-speed broadband internet service, at companies Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this week.

Their Ambani announced the prices of the Jio-Fiber plans which will come with a fixed-line connection, Jio’s set-up box and access to the best Over-The-Top (OTT) media services.

The price will range from Rs.700 to 10,000, under which all the plans registered.

Here are the briefs of the announcements made by JIO.

  • Jio Giga-Fiber broadband plans bundled with a landline connection, HD or 4K set-up box and access to jio’s Internet of Things (IoT).
  • The chairman Ambani promised free voice call over landline for a lifetime. Jio is also bringing down the international voice calling costs and provide unlimited ISD calling to US, Canada at Rs.500/month.
  • Jio also announced a setup-box that will allow access to the largest TV channels, thanks to Jio’s acquisition of three multiple system operators (MSOs) – DEN, Hathway and GTPL – who have a direct relationship with over 30,000 LCOs.
  • All the connections of landline, broadband, set-top box would be connected through fiber-optic cables.
  • Jio also brings a ‘disruptive concept’ of watching movies that are called ‘Jio First Day First Show’; This service would be launched in mid-2020, it will be for the premium plan users who can able to enjoy the movies soon after they are released in theaters.
  • Jio also brings Forever plans for the users opting for the annual plans. The long term plans subscribers will get an HD or 4k LED TV and a 4K set-top box free. Till now Jio hasn’t mentioned the size or the brand of the LED T.V’s and any requirement of any sort of security deposit.
  • Jio is also bringing support of console gaming with the compatibility of all gaming controllers. The set-top box will come with the built-in Graphics card.
  • Jio has done a partnership with the Tencent gaming company and Microsoft so that when they bring new games the users can able to enjoy it. Jio also promises zero-latency gaming with its set-top box.
  • Jio’s set-top box will be equipped with VR and MR support. They support in different categories like shopping, education, and movies. Through MR support the users can able to experience the clothes they are going to purchase.
  • Jio will also launch it’s Holoboard MR headset soon. This MR headset will be developed by Tesseract, it’s a new startup company in which Jio recently invested.
  • Jio said that they had developed a new innovative service on the pan-India 4G network called Narrowband Internet-of-Things or NBIoT.
  • Through this service, the company is looking forward to connecting the whole of India.

The company had confirmed that they will launch this service on January 1, 2020. According to Jio’s estimation, more than 2 million people will be connected from IoT service in India. The company claims that they will connect 1 billion of users through Jio’s IoT platform.

The subscription plan of Jio-Fiber will start from Rs.700/month, in which users will get 100Mbps. The Rs.10,000 plan targets the ‘power users’.

Ambani said that the most developed country in the world U.S provides 90Mbps.

How to apply

As of now, the users can only apply for Jio Fiber preview offer under which comes the broadband connection, which will provide a speed ranging from 100Mbps to 1Gbps.

The users get asked to pay refundable deposit security of Rs.2,500 for the router.

As the commercial launch date comes near the Jio Fiber registration process has begun. You can apply for a Jio Fiber connection at its website from here in a simple 3 step process.

  • On the first page, you have to provide your details like the address where you want to get Jio Fiber connection, your name, your mobile number, and email ID.
  • Then they will SMS you an OTP which you have to submit them. Then the registration process will end.
  • After this, you will get a message which says that once the feasibility is confirmed you will get a call from Jio’s sales representative for further process.
  • To get the connection you have to submit the documents, which can be Adhaar card or any other ID proof like voter card, PAN card, driving license, etc.
  • When your registration process will complete and the Jio Fiber service is available in your area then an installation engineer will visit your house and install the system which will activate within 2 hours.

Jio announced that installation charges will be free during the initial rollout. They said “as part of our initial rollout we are offering complimentary Jio Fiber installation and connection to all our customers. Other than the refundable security deposit, as of now there are no additional installation charges.

Aside from the Jio Fiber connection, you will also get a landline connection for voice calls which will be free for a lifetime.

Samsung unveils its 108-megapixel camera sensor

Samsung unveiled its new 108MP sensor whereas, last week Xiaomi said it will bring the 1st phone which will carry this sensor. Samsung provided details about the actual sensor today.

The Korean manufacturer announced the ISSOCELL Bright HMX sensor for smartphones with 108 Megapixels. The sensor is bigger than the 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1, by 1/1.33″ which is 125% bigger.
This bigger size lets it retain the same 0.8μm pixel pitch.

Samsung said in a press release that the camera able to produce “exceptional photos even in the extreme lighting conditions”; it will contain 100 million effective pixels.

It employs the Tetracell lighting technology, which means it effectively a 27MP sensor with 1.6μm pixel pitch.

108MP sensor

The sensor comes with the Smart-ISO- a mechanism that helps to select the level of amplifier gains according to the illumination and switched to a low ISO which will helps to ‘improve the pixel saturation and produce vivid photographs’;

When we able to see the mammoth in an actual mobile unit then we’ll be able to find out how this sensor differs from the current ones.
The HMX can able to support video recording with the full view up to 6k (6016 x 3384) resolution at 30fps.

So, for the peoples who mostly record videos from the mobile will get benefited.

The mass production of the sensor is expected to begin by the end of August.

It is been expected that the Xiaomi will also launch the new Mi Mix 4 with this sensor in October.

Samsung launched its new Galaxy Note devices, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. This is Samsung ‘s flagship killers which are known for their large size.

It is the first time also that Samsung has not provided headphone jacks in their devices.

  • In-camera department the Galaxy Note 10 comes with the triple camera setup, a 12 MP main camera whose aperture will vary from f/1.5 to f/2.4 lens. It comes with a 16MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture of f/2.2 lens, and it a 12 MP camera with an f/2.1 telephoto lens. The device comes with dual OIS like last years.
  • In the front, you will get a 10MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2, it will be hidden in the front punch hole notch.
  • One thing I’m not a fan of, in particular, is the tiny 3,500 mAh battery that Samsung is putting in the Note 10 — that’s just ridiculously small for a phone in 2019, but maybe Samsung is still reeling from the Note 7 debacle.

  • Note 10+ comes with Exynos 9825 and in some regions, it will come with a snapdragon 855 processor.
  • In-camera department Note 10+ comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear. The triple camera setup is the same as the Note 10 where it comes in 12MP+16MP+12MP, but there’s also a ‘DepthVision camera’ which comes alongside with these three.
  • The front camera is the same 10MP from Note 10 which will be hidden inside the punch hole notch.
  • The Galaxy Note 10+ comes with a bigger battery of 4,300mAh as compared to Note 10. It will also support 45W fast charging but you won’t get a 45W charger in the box, you have to buy it separately.
  • The device is launched in two variant a 12GBRAM+256GB storage option variant and a 12GB RAM+512GB storage option variant. Here, the RAM is the same in both the variants but the storage option varies.

Note 10 5G and Note 10+ 5G

  • According to the sources, the Samsung will launch there Note 10 and 10+ 5G variant which will come with some minor differences.
  • Note 10 supports dual nano SIMs but the 5G variant Note 10 will only support a single SIM.
  • Whereas, Note 10+ comes with a hybrid solution, where you can put either a dual nano SIMs or 1 nano-SIM and 1 microSD card.
  • While the 5G variant will only support 1 single SIM and 1 microSD card.
  • Both the devices come with all the sensors which are required, accelerometer, barometer, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, RGB light sensor and more.

Note 10 and Note 10+ Price and Availability

Samsung has priced the Note 10 and Note 10+ at a starting price of $949 for the Note 10 and $1,099 for the Note 10+. The devices are available for pre-order starting tomorrow and will go on sale starting from August

The Galaxy Note 10’s starting price is $949, and Note 10+ comes with a starting price of $1,099.

Whereas, in India Note10 will start from Rs. 69,999 for 8GB RAM+256GB storage option, while Note 10+ will start at Rs.79,999 for the 12GB RAM+256GB storage option. Samsung has not revealed the Indian price for Note 10+ 12GB RAM+512GB storage option.

The devices pre-order will start from 8 august in India and from August 22 you can buy them from online retailers like Amazon or Flipkart. From August 23 the devices will be available in India, the same day as their global release.

The much-hyped Vivo S1 launched in India on Wednesday, August 8.

Key Highlights of the device

  • The device comes with MediaTek Helio P65 it is the first mobile that is launching with this processor.
  • It has a triple camera setup with a 16 megapixel primary camera sensor and a 45,000 mAh battery.

The phone was launched in China a few months back and arrived in the global market with some changes last month.

The Chinese variant and global variant has some differences, for example, the global variant comes with a waterdrop notch whereas, the Chinese variant comes with a pop-up selfie camera.


Vivo S1 comes with a waterdrop notch with a slight chin at the bottom of the display. The screen size is 6.38inch, the resolution is Full-HD+ (1080×2340). The display is a Super AMOLED captive multi-touch.

It also contains an in-display fingerprint sensor. As the device doesn’t have the notification light, it has an always-on display.

The device runs on Android Pie with Funtouch OS 9, which is Vivo’s propriety skin on the top.

It comes with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 MT6768 SoC.

The Vivo S1 comes with a triple camera setup at the back, where the primary camera comes with a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/1.78 lens. The secondary camera comes with an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens.

The rear camera feature modes include HDR, Live photo, Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), AI super wide-angle, portrait, AI portrait framing, Doc, professional, AR sticker, AI face beauty, Time-Laps, slow motion and more.

The device also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front waterdrop notch with an f/2.0 lens.

Front camera modes include HDR, Live Photos, Panorama, Gender detection, Face beauty, Bokeh, AR sticker, Selfie Lighting, AI face Beauty and Video Face Beauty.

Vivo S1 packs a powerful battery with a capacity of 4,500mAh.

In connectivity option, it includes WIFI 2.4G+5G band, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS and Micro-USB with OTG support.

In sensors, the device has all-important sensors available include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, virtual gyroscope, and in-display fingerprint sensor.


Vivo S1 in India comes in Three variants, at Rs. 17,990 for the 4GB RAM+128GB storage option, the 6GB RAM+64GB storage option variant comes for Rs. 18,990 and the 6GB RAM+128GB storage option is priced at Rs.19,990.

The device will be available in different color options, Skyline Blue and Diamond Black.

The 4GB RAM+128GB storage option device will go on sale from August 8, while the 6GB RAM variants launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Samsung teases their new chipset on Twitter

The Seol which is the official Twitter handle of Samsung’s chipset Exynos has released a teaser, hinting at the new processor which were launching on August 7 at the tech giant’s Unpacked event slated for next week in Brooklyn.

WhatsApp designing a new tool which will help in controlling spam messages


WhatsApp rolling out an update that will mark the specific messages which are forwarded too many times.

A new tag called ‘Frequently Forwarded’, will label messages that have been forwarded more than Five times to unique users. The messages can be identified with a double arrow icon that singles out the messages. This will help in controlling spam messages and misinformation which led to an act of violence.

Users will get a pop up when they try to forward the message and the prompt says, ‘This message will be marked as forwarded many times’.

This will help users to be more aware of what information they are sharing. WhatsApp hopes that including such alerts will help to act accordingly.

As the spreading of misinformation increases, many lynching is happening because of this.

WhatsApp already started to take action against fake and spam messages and identifying senders of spam messages. This is the people who use WhatsApp as a forwarding medium, rather than a personal messaging service.

WhatsApp already dealing with the issue of propaganda which happening repeatedly on its platform.

Now it depends on the tool how it works to control the spam messages and stop propaganda.

Chrome 76 update has been rolling out for Mac, Windows, and Linux users, it will fix the Incognito mode issue that has been reported on several occasions in the past.

The loophole which exposed the user’s data will close with these latest update.

This update will also block the Flash by default which you have to manually switch it back to the ‘Ask first’ option in Settings.

As for the Flash-blocking, google taking baby steps for years now but the company has confirmed that they will completely remove the plug-in by late 2020.

As of now, with Chrome 76 update Flash will be blocked by default and if you want to change then you can go back to ‘Ask first’ option then Settings > Content > Flash to switch it back to what it was. With this google is forcing the website makers to switch to HTML5.

There was a loophole in incognito mode, in which a user’s data can be tracked by third-party websites. With Chrome 76 update this loophole won’t allow sites to detect the user’s data who are browsing in incognito mode.

This loophole has existed in Chrome FileSystem API and it was known by the development community.

The company had confirmed through the post that the issue is now fixed.

This update will fix the Chrome FileSystem API so the “detect private mode” scripts can no longer take advantage of that indicator.

Now you can download the Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) easily and fast from the ‘Install’ button which will add in the Omnibox.

These apps will now check for updates regularly, instead of every three days, as was the earlier.

Google says that a total of 43 security fixes are included in Chrome 76. The users can update the latest version through the built-in updater or via the company website.

Google also notes that chrome 76 is testing a new Paint Holding behaviour, which essentially will eliminate the white screen process while going from one page to another.

Now the browser will wait briefly before starting to paint especially if the page is fast enough.
